Uploading Documents

There are several places you can upload documents within Venture Tracker. In general these will be stored with the record you are viewing - either a Company, Panellist, Panel or Huddle for example. Remember, your VT may use a different vocabulary, but these are the underlying data names.

For example, if you use either the Panels (one company, multiple advisors), or Huddles (multiple companies, multiple advisors, multiple partners) for your review meetings, you can upload documents per review. Here is an example from a Panel:

The documents are stored in a unique folder, so no naming clashes occur if you routinely call all your minutes 'review-minutes.docx', as long as you attach them to the right “Panel”.

Similarly you can upload documents at the Company level - again, will be stored in a unique folder - and this is often used for documents such as annual venture audits which are longer term, not specific to an individual review etc.

File Types

Most file types can be added. VT automatically makes a back up copy of uploaded documents (as well as all record data). in case of system failure. Please note however, that video files (.mp4, .avi, etc.) and archive files (.zip, .rar, etc.) will not be backed up on VT - please ensure you retain the originals in case of data loss.
